For Immediate Release
Rapist denied parole
SANTA ROSA, CA | November 10, 2025
Inmate Felimon Torres, 61 years old, and previously residing in Valley Ford, will remain incarcerated at this time following his initial parole eligibility hearing. Torres is currently serving a life sentence for forcible rape he committed in 1996 during the commission of a residential burglary.
In 1996, Torres broke into a woman’s home, entered her bedroom armed with a knife, and demanded money. Torres then tied the woman’s hands and raped her in front of her small child who had also been sleeping in that room.
Torres was convicted following a jury trial of forcible rape, residential burglary, attempted residential robbery, making criminal threats, and false imprisonment. The jury also found that Torres personally used a knife during the commission of those crimes. Following his convictions, Torres was committed to CDCR in April of 2000 to serve a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
On November 6, 2025, CDCR’s Board of Parole Hearings considered whether Torres should be released on parole. In reaching their decision to deny parole, the Commissioners found Torres’s continued denial of the rape implausible given the eye-witness testimony and DNA evidence. The Commissioners’ decision was also based on Torres’s recent challenges with sobriety while in CDCR, as well as his prior criminal history which included felony DUI causing injury and felony hit-and-run causing injury. Although Torres was given a 5-year denial, current law allows him to petition for an earlier hearing.
The hearing was attended by Deputy District Attorney Ashley Hendon who opposed Torres’s release on behalf of the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.
