Man Convicted of Kidnapping and Multiple Sex Offenses of 12-Year-Old Child

Defendant Timothy Marble, 52 years old of Napa County, was found guilty yesterday afternoon by a Sonoma County jury of committing multiple felony sex offenses against a 12-year-old Napa County girl. The verdicts came after an approximately two week-long trial wherein witnesses testified that in the early morning hours of March 31, 2017 the defendant introduced himself to the 12-year-old victim at a gas station in Napa. He became friendly with her and invited her to take a ride with him, to which she agreed. The defendant offered her marijuana and later persuaded her to use methamphetamine. After injecting her with the drug, he drove her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her. Following the assault, the defendant continued to inject her with drugs and repeatedly beat and sexually assaulted her over the course of several hours. Ultimately, as the defendant drove south on Highway 1 through the town of Bodega Bay, the victim was able to jump out of the moving car to escape. She hid from him and was eventually rescued with the assistance of a security guard who happened to be in the area, and who called police.

District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This was a particularly vicious sexual assault against a child. She was abducted, injected with illegal drugs and then continually victimized by this perpetrator as he repeatedly sexually assaulted her. The jury rightfully convicted him of crimes that will expose him to spending the rest of his life behind bars.”

Following approximately two days of deliberations the jury convicted the defendant of felonies including forcible rape following the administration of a controlled substance to a minor, forcible oral copulation in the course of an aggravated kidnapping, and three counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under the age of fourteen. The defendant was also found to have suffered a previous conviction for a serious or violent felony. When sentenced by the Honorable Dana Simmonds on December 14, 2018 the defendant faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Laura Passaglia, assisted by District Attorney Investigator Kris Allen. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department led the criminal investigation under the direction of Detective Matthew Regan.
