Woman Sentenced to 5 Years and 4 Months State Prison for Embezzlement from Prior Employer, Amaturo Media Group
Santa Rosa, CA | September 03, 2025
The Sonoma County District Attorneys’ Office announced the sentencing of Tina Cabudoy for embezzlement from her former employee, Amaturo Media Group, following her plea in late July of this year. The Honorable Troye Schaffer sentenced Cabudoy to 5 years and 4 months in state prison. Cabudoy was further ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $179,306.98.
Cabudoy, formerly employed by Amaturo Media Group as a business manager, entered a plea to embezzling funds through multiple means between her hiring date in July of 2023 and when she was terminated in March of 2024. The investigation discovered that Cabudoy was using her employers credit card for personal expenses, including an extravagant birthday party in San Franciso. She also wrote business checks to herself.
During the sentencing hearing, the victim addressed the court regarding the impact this theft had on him, other employees and the business. Cabudoy has a history of embezzlement and was already serving a sentence in San Mateo County for a similar crime. The prison term of 5 years and 4 months includes the prior sentence from San Mateo County.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Amy Ariyoshi. Santa Rosa Police Department conducted the investigation.
