Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office to Host Wage Theft & Labor Justice Symposium

SANTA ROSA, CA | June 19, 2024

Sonoma County District Attorney Carla Rodriguez is hosting a Wage Theft & Labor Justice Symposium in Santa Rosa this Friday, June 21, 2024, from 8:30am until 4:30pm. In-person registration is closed, but those interested can register and attend virtually by emailing ecld@sonoma-county.org. Registration is free, and all are welcome.

Attendees will hear from speakers from community organizations and government agencies on topics covering the investigation and prosecution of wage theft cases, the underground economy and the destabilizing effect of wage theft on workers and their families.  There will be an in-depth discussion about the related crime of labor trafficking, and a comprehensive discussion about resources available to victims of wage theft and labor exploitation.

Employers who exploit their workers should expect aggressive enforcement of California’s wage theft laws. If you believe you are the victim of wage theft, or for more information on rules and examples of wage theft, please call our wage theft hotline 1-833-889-2437 (1-833-88-WAGES). For more information, visit the Department of Industrial Relations at https://www.dir.ca.gov/ or the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Environmental and Consumer Law Division website at https://da.sonomacounty.ca.gov/divisions/environmental-and-consumer-law-division.
