Defendant Darius Bunyad, 41 years old of Petaluma, was sentenced Monday, June 21 by the Honorable Dana Simonds to serve ten years in state prison (the maximum eligible sentence under the law) after being found guilty by a jury in 2017 of committing six counts of felony sexual battery by fraud, and multiple additional misdemeanor offenses. Defendant Ulises Castrejon Valdez, 28 years old of Healdsburg, was sentenced today by the Honorable Mark Urioste to serve eight years and four months in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March of this year to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and driving impaired causing great bodily injury. Defendants Christian May Quintero and Fredi Alberto Lopez-Flores, 28 and 37, were sentenced today to life in prison for the abduction and violent sexual attack of Jane Doe. District Attorney Ravitch stated, “Two violent predators have been brought to justice today. Local Program Receives Community Awareness Funding for 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch has announced that her office has received funding from the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) through a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), within the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, to promote community awareness of crime victims’ rights and services during the 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
