Healdsburg Shooter and Drug Dealer Sentenced to Eight Years State Prison
Defendant JOAHAN MALDONADO-NIETO, age 21, of Healdsburg, was sentenced today by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to eight years state prison for his pleas of “no contest” to two separate shooting incidents, one of which involved possession of drugs for sale. Read full story
Defendants Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Abduction and Brutal Sexual Assault of Jane Doe
Defendants Christian May Quintero and Fredi Alberto Lopez-Flores, 28 and 37, were sentenced today to life in prison for the abduction and violent sexual attack of Jane Doe. District Attorney Ravitch stated, “Two violent predators have been brought to justice today. Given the defendants’ vicious behavior, the maximum sentences are entirely appropriate in this case.” Read full story
Santa Rosa Man Sentenced to Maximum Term in Prison for Assaulting Elderly Victim in Her Home
Defendant Tai Kincaid, 44 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced on Thursday May 5th by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to serve eight years and eight months in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March to charges of residential burglary of an elderly victim, assaulting an elderly victim with a deadly weapon, and evading law enforcement. Local Program Receives Community Awareness Funding for 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch has announced that her office has received funding from the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) through a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), within the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, to promote community awareness of crime victims’ rights and services during the 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Guerneville Man Sentenced to Maximum Term in Prison for Assaulting an Elderly Victim
Defendant David Bowen Farwell, 35 years old of Guerneville, was sentenced yesterday in Sonoma County Superior Court by the Honorable Bradford DeMeo to serve eight years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury in February of assaulting an elderly victim. Read full story
Bodega Man Sentenced to 10 Years Prison For Multiple Felony Sex Offenses
Defendant Peter Duranceau, 26 years old of Bodega Bay, was sentenced on Monday April 11th by the Honorable Troye Shaffer to serve ten years in state prison after pleading “no contest” in February of this year to ten felony sex offenses. Read full story
PG&E Resolves Prosecution of Kincade Fire
Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced today that Pacific Gas & Electric Company (“PG&E”) entered into a Stipulated Judgment to resolve pending criminal and civil charges against of PG&E related to causing the 2019 Kincade Fire. The Judgment, approved by the Honorable Patrick Broderick, orders PG&E to implement numerous wildfire safety measures in Sonoma County. PG&E’s compliance with these safety measures will be reviewed and monitored by a team of independent experts in the energy field for the next five years. Read full story

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmate David Allen Sims, 42 years old of Santa Rosa, was denied parole following a hearing held on March 29, 2022 at California State Prison, Folsom. Read full story
Co-Defendants Convicted of Multiple Rape Counts
Defendants Christian May Quintero and Fredi Alberto Lopez-Flores, 28 and 37 years old respectively, were convicted today after a one-month-long jury trial, presided over by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg.District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This was a tragic case, and the young victim showed incredible strength testifying and facing her attackers. Man Sentenced to Serve 125 Years-to-Life in Prison for Sexually Assaulting Two Victims
Defendant Cecilio Castaneda, 55 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced yesterday by the Honorable Robert LaForge to serve 125 years-to-life in state prison after being found guilty by a Sonoma County jury in November of last year of multiple counts of molesting two young children. Following the 2 week-long trial the jury found the defendant guilty of all charges and enhancements. Read full story
