District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced that a grant from theCalifornia Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) will enable the Sonoma CountyDistrict Attorney’s Office to continue a specialized team to prosecute alcoholand drug-impaired driving cases. Defendant Alejandro Tapia Garcia, 35 years old of SantaRosa, was sentenced today by the Honorable Peter Ottenweller to thirty-oneyears in state prison following his convictions in August of this year tocharges of forcible rape of a child under the age of 14, and two counts ofcommitting a forcible lewd or lascivious act upon a child younger than14. Michigan Man Found Guilty of Second Degree Murder in 2016 Thanksgiving Day Stabbing
After a month-long trial, a Sonoma County jury deliberated less than 5 hours before finding defendant Arent Daniel Julius Bradt guilty of second degree murder yesterday afternoon. In addition, the jury found “true” an enhancement alleging the defendant used a knife during the murder, making the defendant’s maximum exposure 16 years to life in state prison. Read full story
