Petaluma Man Sentenced to 4 Years State Prison for Fatal Collision
Defendant James Thomas Watkins, 43 years old of Petaluma, was sentenced today by the Honorable Judge Bradford J. Demeo to serve 4 years in state prison after a jury returned a guilty verdict against him in May to charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in connection with a collision he caused in September of 2020 which resulted in the death of Mario Gongora Castaneda. Las Vegas Man Convicted by Sonoma County Jury for Attempted Murder of Elder Victim
On July 6, 2022, a Sonoma County jury found defendant Gerald Jacinth guilty of charges of premeditated attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. They also found true enhancements for personal use of a firearm and inflicting great bodily injury. Read full story
Former Santa Rosa Chiropractor Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Batteries on Patients
Defendant Darius Bunyad, 41 years old of Petaluma, was sentenced Monday, June 21 by the Honorable Dana Simonds to serve ten years in state prison (the maximum eligible sentence under the law) after being found guilty by a jury in 2017 of committing six counts of felony sexual battery by fraud, and multiple additional misdemeanor offenses. Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Assault with A Deadly Weapon and Violation of Court Order
Defendant Dennis Marrow, 26 years old of Sonoma County, was sentenced June 8, 2022 by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to serve 7 years in state prison after pleading no contest to charges of assault with a deadly weapon and violating a court order. Healdsburg Man Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Discharging Firearm with Gross Negligence
Defendant Robert Marroquin, 61 years old of Healdsburg, was sentenced yesterday by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to serve 6 years in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March of this year to one felony count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and admitting a prior “strike” offense. Healdsburg Man Sentenced to 8 Years and 4 Months in State Prison for Fatal Drunk Driving Collision
Defendant Ulises Castrejon Valdez, 28 years old of Healdsburg, was sentenced today by the Honorable Mark Urioste to serve eight years and four months in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March of this year to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and driving impaired causing great bodily injury. Healdsburg Shooter and Drug Dealer Sentenced to Eight Years State Prison
Defendant JOAHAN MALDONADO-NIETO, age 21, of Healdsburg, was sentenced today by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to eight years state prison for his pleas of “no contest” to two separate shooting incidents, one of which involved possession of drugs for sale. Read full story
Defendants Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Abduction and Brutal Sexual Assault of Jane Doe
Defendants Christian May Quintero and Fredi Alberto Lopez-Flores, 28 and 37, were sentenced today to life in prison for the abduction and violent sexual attack of Jane Doe. District Attorney Ravitch stated, “Two violent predators have been brought to justice today. Given the defendants’ vicious behavior, the maximum sentences are entirely appropriate in this case.” Read full story
Santa Rosa Man Sentenced to Maximum Term in Prison for Assaulting Elderly Victim in Her Home
Defendant Tai Kincaid, 44 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced on Thursday May 5th by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to serve eight years and eight months in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March to charges of residential burglary of an elderly victim, assaulting an elderly victim with a deadly weapon, and evading law enforcement. Local Program Receives Community Awareness Funding for 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch has announced that her office has received funding from the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) through a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), within the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, to promote community awareness of crime victims’ rights and services during the 2022 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
