Former Child Parent Institute Employee Sentenced to Prison for Child Molestation

Santa Rosa, CA | August 28, 2024

Defendant Victor David Magallon, 44 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced Monday August 19th by the Honorable Judge Troye Shaffer to serve 28 years in State Prison for the repeated molestation of two children. Magallon’s sentencing follows his convictions in December 2023 at the conclusion of a jury trial at which he was found guilty of two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

District Attorney Carla Rodriguez stated, “I want to acknowledge the bravery of the victims in this case. Their willingness and ability to confront their abuser in court was essential to obtaining this conviction, and to prevent him from having access to other potential victims for the foreseeable future.”

The charges resulted from an investigation which began in December 2020. That month, Santa Rosa Police received a report that Magallon had sexually abused two family friends, possibly as early as 2009. After an investigation, Magallon was charged with crimes related to two girls who would have been approximately 10 and 11 years old when the abuse began. Jury selection began on November 27, 2023. The two victims took the stand and described repeated molestation by Magallon during drives to the store, fun outings, or sleepovers he would arrange at his home. After weeks of testimony, the case was turned over to the jury for deliberations, and after less than two hours they convicted Magallon of all charges and allegations.

Judge Shaffer sentenced Magallon to 28 years in prison for his crimes. Magallon was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Brian Morimune, assisted by District Attorney Investigator Dave Linscomb. Sgt. Rick Boehm of the Santa Rosa Police Department headed the investigation.
